PROMISE 25: Protecting Mental Health in Sport + Exercise Conference
20.09.2025 - 21.09.2025 - Edinburgh, Scotland
The PROMISE 25 Conference (Protecting Mental Health in Sport + Exercise) on 20-21 September 2025 in Edinburgh addresses all aspects of mental health in elite sports, from early detection to long-term care. It puts a special emphasis on fostering a supportive culture, reducing stigma, and encouraging athletes to seek help.
The programme was curated by key members of the IOC Mental Health Leadership Group, who have played a significant role in raising global awareness, advancing scientific research, and developing best practices in sports psychiatry and psychotherapy. It is aimed at both medical and psychological professionals as well as members of the athletes’ support network (coaches, officials from sports federations and clubs, etc.).
The event is organised in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh and will be held at the South Hall Complex (18 Holyrood Park Road, Edinburgh EH16 5AR, United Kingdom).
At the Welcome Reception (20 September, 19:00 to 21:30), all speakers, exhibitors, and an elite athlete will be available for an informal Q&A over dinner.
